SUMMER SOCCER ACADEMY – Coach Mauro Nobre

DAYS: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 PM. 

DATES: June 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26 at Clinton Lake Youth Sports Complex. 

In addition, we do two Saturday mornings of beach soccer (no reservations required at Bloomington Beach Swimming Area) - June 15 and 22.

ELIGIBILITY: All Academy, Premier, and advanced Recreation Players

LEVEL: players will be organized in groups by level of ability

DESCRIPTION: The Summer Soccer Academy will address each player’s unique development needs. We will assess your physical and technical skills and determine your weak and strong areas. The summer training will be tailored around your needs. We will provide you hundreds of purposeful ball touches each session. The idea is to perform each technique correctly, with no pressure, so that through repetition you develop the correct technique and muscle memory. The program will involve fun and challenging individual and small-group exercises using a Brazilian skills development method. The Brazilian method combines correct body mechanics with plyometrics. We realize that players may have to miss some of the 12 sessions, and we will adjust accordingly.

STRIKERS & GOALKEEPERS CAMP - Coach Mauro Nobre

DATES: June 17-21

TIME: 8-11AM

LOCATION: Clinton Lake Youth Sports Complex

LEVEL: All ages and levels; Premier, Academy and advanced Recreation players

FEE: $120

DESCRIPTION: The Strikers/Goalkeepers Camp develops play in and around the penalty box – creating goal opportunities, shooting, or saving shots. All aspects of attacking in the front third of the field will be covered. Sessions will focus on individual as well as small group play. Goalkeepers will also receive high repetitions in technical skills and tactical situations, with a goalkeeper trainer. Technical training includes receiving (hands and feet), distributing (foot and hand), diving, and boxing (parrying). Tactical situations include 2 v1's, positioning in various situations, and angle play. Strikers will learn multiple types of effects on the ball – we will be using the Strikerite ball to teach these advanced striking and shooting techniques. Players will be offered the chance to purchase the Strikerite ball at a discount (comes with an instructional CD).

All Star Summer Camp – Coach Gordon Temple

DATES: JUNE 24-28

LOCATION: Lawrence, Clinton Lake Youth Sports Complex

TIME: 6-8PM

AGE: 7-18 year olds

COST: $120 per session

The All-Star Summer Camp is specifically designed to work on all the fundamental aspects of the game. In the modern game players must learn how to attack and defend if they want to play at the highest level. 

Each session starts with speed and agility to increase players functional core strength, dynamic flexibility, control and balance. Then players will work on ball mastery before being introduced to the specific topic of the day. 

The topic of the day will focus on the technical and tactical applications of attacking or defending. Attacking concepts include: learning effective skill moves used to off balance defenders, how to create separation from defenders with movement off the ball, when to use wall passes, learn proper techniques on how to effectively shoot, cross, dribble, and much more. Defending concepts include: teaching players how to properly defend individually and as a team using the principles such as pressure, cover, and balance. Defending topics will have a strong emphasis on transitioning to attack. 

Players will finish each session participating in small sided and big sided games so they can have the opportunity to implement what they have learned into game situations. This camp is highly recommended for all players who want to take their game to the next level. 

ADVANCED SKILLS CAMP - Coach Mauro Nobre

LEVELS: Academy, Premier, and advanced Recreation players

DESCRIPTION: The Advanced Skills Camp will teach new skills and sharpen your existing skills. The main focus this season will be ball skills to beat a defender, passing and shooting. Attention to details and precision will improve the various phases of execution – preparation, execution, and follow-through. In addition, we will teach you when, how and why to use each skill in a game situation, so players will develop a higher soccer IQ. Your toolkit of skills will get bigger and sharper, and your understanding of when and how to use each skill to solve problems frequently encountered in game situations will blossom.

SKV 785 team camp will take place from July 22–25. The camp is the first of its kind in Kansas and will be an opportunity for our new Premier teams for the 2024/25 year to work with a different college coach each day for a week. The camp will allow teams to get together before the season officially starts and gain some amazing experience and exposure working with collegiate-level coaches. 

The camp is open to all 2016-2006 birth year players and is required for all Premier players. We already have a lot of top colleges committed to attending and coaching the camp, and we are excited to add another opportunity to showcase our players to colleges from around the region. Camp includes 4 days of training sessions, working with a different college coach each day and will finish with friendly games on the weekend.

PRE-SEASON INTENSIVE CAMP - Coach Mauro Nobre

DESCRIPTION: A camp designed to prepare our  Academy and advanced Recreation players to start the season in peak shape! Very challenging program to help you meet all the demands of the game. The objective is for us to be better prepared than any of our opponents from the first game of the season. This will include at least two days of BEACH SOCCER! Beach soccer is lots of fun, and very demanding physically. Players improve their endurance, strength and power without even realizing how hard they are working, all as a natural result of playing on the sand. It will also improve their technical skills with balls in the air, since the ball must be passed in the air due to the irregular surface of the sand. In between games players can cool off and splash in the water! Win-win environment for all!

Join Sporting KC June 17-20 for our Topeka, Kansas Summer Camp at Bettis Family Sports Complex!

Each camp is led by our Sporting KC Youth coaches. All Sporting KC camps are designed to empower players to feel more confident in their soccer abilities and learn from curriculum aligned with Sporting KC and the Sporting KC Academy.

This camp is open to boys and girls of all skill levels from 5-14 years old.

Boys & Girls 5-7 Years Old

Players ages 4-7 years old can join Coach Abdu Durar and other Manhattan SKV coaching staff for the Summer Micro Soccer Camp. Space is limited in each age group.

Sessions will run on Tuesday and Thursday at Anneberg Park. This is a super fun camp for the players to stay connected to soccer in the summer.

The Manhattan Summer soccer Camp will take place at Anneberg Park Turf Field June 13-15.

The camp is open to Academy or Premier players from any club between the ages of U8-U19. 

The MHK Summer Camp is designed to improve on fundamental soccer abilities during the off-season (ball mastery, dribbling, passing, and shooting). There will be various challenging & fun technical drills, ending each day with small sided games.
