  • U6 Recreation Rules

    Field Size: 30x20 yards

    Goal Size: 2 x 3

    Ball Size: Size 3


    • Players on the field: The U6 age group plays 3x3 without a goal keeper.
    • Playtime: 4 quarters of 8 minutes play, 2 minutes rest in between quarters and 5 minute halftime. (8/2/5)
    • Throw-ins: Allow players unlimited throw-ins to get it right.
    • Corner kicks: NONE. Use corner throw-ins.
    • Substitutions: allowed at any stoppage of play (ball out of bounds, foul, kick-off), time keeps running.
    • Playing time: All players should play an equal amount of time. 
    • Goal kicks: taken at nearest 3 yard spot from goal line into the field of play.
    • Offsides: not called.
    • Referee: One official referee will be assigned to the game. If no referee is available, the two coaches may act as referees, provided they call the game fairly and correctly. 
    • Slide tackling: sliding with one or both feet over the ground to get possession of the ball is not allowed. Restart: indirect free kick.
    • Fouls: pushing, pulling, tripping, kicking opponent, handling the ball, and dangerous play (high kick with opponent nearby). All fouls result in an indirect free kick for the opposing team. A goal can only be scored from an indirect free kick if the ball is touched by another player (teammate or opponent) than the kicker before it enters the goal.
    • No headers. If a player takes a header it will result in an immediate foul with possession given to the other team.
    • Coaches on the field: coaches may be on the playing field to assist in giving directions to their players.

  • U7 Recreation Rules

    Field Size: 30x20 yards

    Goal Size: 4 x 6

    Ball Size: Size 3

    • Players on the field: The U6 age group plays 4x4 without a goalkeeper.
    • Playtime: 4 quarters of 10 minutes play, 2 minutes rest in between quarters and 5 minute halftime. (8/2/5)
    • Throw-ins: Allow a player a 2nd or 3rd throw-in to get it right.
    • Corner kicks: Kicks taken from spot within 1 yard from corner.
    • Substitutions: allowed at any stoppage of play (ball out of bounds, foul, kick-off), time keeps running.
    • Playing time: All players shall play an equal amount of time.
    • Goal kicks: taken anywhere within 6 yards area of goal line.
    • Offsides: not called.
    • REFEREE: One official referee will be assigned to the game.
    • Slide tackling: sliding with one or both feet over the ground to get possession of the ball is not allowed. Restart: indirect free kick for opposing team.

  • U8 Recreation Rules

    Ball Size: Size 3


    • Players on the field: The U8 age group plays 5x5 (1 goalkeeper and 4 players).
    • Keepers need to be dressed in different colors than field players.
    • Playtime: 4 quarters of 10 minutes play, 2 minutes rest in between quarters and 5 minute halftime. (8/2/5)
    • Throw-in: Allow a player a 2nd throw-in to get it right.
    • Substitutions: allowed at any stoppage of play (ball out of bounds, foul, kick-off), time keeps running.
    • Playing time: All players shall play an equal amount of time.

  • U10 Recreation Rules

    Field Size: 47x30 yards

    Ball Size: Size 4


    • Players on the field: The U10 age group plays 7v7 (1 goal keeper and 6 field players).
    • The goalkeeper must be dressed differently from teammates and opposing team.
    • A match may not start if either team consists of fewer than six players.
    • Substitutions allowed at any stoppage of play (ball out of bounds, foul, kick-off), time keeps running.
    • Playing time: All players shall play an equal amount of time.
    • Offside: Will be called.
    • Free Kicks: all opponents are at least eight (8) yards from the ball.
    • (2) equal halves of twenty-five (25) minutes each- half-time interval of five (5) minutes
    • The Penalty Kick: penalty mark is made eight (8) yards from the midpoint between the goalposts.
    • No Slide-tackling: sliding with one or both feet over the ground to get possession of the ball from an opponent is not allowed. Restart: indirect free kick to opponent.
    • Fouls: pushing, pulling, tripping, kicking opponent, handling the ball, and dangerous play (high kick/playing on the ground with player nearby). 
    • No Headers. If a player deliberately heads the ball, it will be an immediate foul and the opposing team will be awarded an indirect free kick.
